My students play the autoharp the 1st year of Let's Play Music. On the autoharp, they learn harmonic rhythm and how to recognize the I, IV, V chords which we call red, blue and yellow. After they learn to play on the autoharp, they transfer their knowledge of chords and rhythm to the piano. It's amazing how the building blocks of this program fit together so well to make wonderful overall musicians!
